The Kongs are back and they are better than EVER!
...but wait, who am I forgetting?
The ORIGINAL KONG is BACK!!
CAN I GET A FIST BUMP?!
HELL YEAH, BITCHES!!
For those of you that think this is just the Wii game again, THINK AGAIN! The HD makes a HUGE difference and the U is capable of so many more hues of colors, to compare is foolish!
There's so much color, so much vibrancy, so many little animated details and touches in the background and foreground, I am afraid posting pics of the game just doesn't do it justice! But there's sooo much more to the game this time!
The game is absolutely gorgeous to look at, the details can be mesmerizing to almost a distraction. THANKFULLY, there's no time limit, so you CAN gawk at its beauty if you want, but you are probably not going to...
As the saying goes: With great new Kongs comes great maneuverability... but there's always a price. Each Kong's moves is vital to gameplay, but keeping their moves in mind as you are playing through the stages is a practice in pin-point reflexes and precision. Diddy can hover horizontally briefly, Dixie can hover too, but she does a vertical hop upwards before she starts to descend and Cranky...? He just kicks ALL sorts of ass! His cane works like Scrooge's: Pogo-ing on it hurts enemies, protects you from hazards like spikes and the bounce from it gives you a slightly higher jump than you normally have!
Yes, we've seen this a few times now, but it bears repeating! If you are a platforming PUSSY, as was the GameSpot reviewer, don't even bother playing! I now see an opportunity for tiny, colored text...
**If you are what you eat, and Edge has eaten more than his fair share... THAT would explain his baffling dis-interest in this game... It ALL makes sense now! Sorry if I am being a cock, but, well, same rules apply!**
I just started the 'original' DKCR today. It's definitely DK, but Jungle Beat it is not.

Am I misenterpreting this, or did you just say you've eaten too much dick?
I'm not going to write much more for now. I just wanted to get the gorilla rolling in this topic so when you --ALL-- finally wisen up and pick up this great WII U game, you'll have some place to put your impressions! It may not be the Metroid game you were waiting for, but if you can appreciate an incredibly crafted, insanely detailed, lovingly dedicated platformer with modern graphics coupled with Retro sensibilities that will keep you breathless, on the EDGE of your seat the entire time you are playing... **yeah it's all that** ...then you --REALLY-- should pick up this game sooner rather than later!
I was slightly disappointed that Retro wasn't working on Metroid, but I loved DKR. Everything Retro has made has been golden.

Some reviews. Top, average and lowest of the low (GS).

With stunning audio and visuals, combined with gameplay depth and variety, Tropical Freeze has easily cemented itself as one of the best platformers I’ve ever played.

Damn you, Leo, for convincing me that I need this. I traded in six games for this, so it's free....right? Leo probably got all 'A's on his persuasive writing papers.
I've loved every second of it so far, even if I'm just a few levels in. It runs so smooth and has such bright, vibrant colors. Dat fur! Plus, David Wise is back. I've always said that Returns was better than the SNES versions and this one seems every bit as good. Retro knows how to make incredible Nintendo games.
